Attendance

Good attendance is above 96%.   Attendance under 90% is classed as ‘persistent absence’.  Consistent attendance leads to better progress, stronger friendships and better levels of wellbeing.

Parents/Carers must report a reason for their child’s absence.  ‘Unwell’ does not give enough detail and will not be authorised.  Please call 01873735010 (Primary Site) or 01873735373 (Secondary Site) to report an absence. Please select option 1.  You can also report absences on ClassCharts.

We believe that education is a partnership. We will do everything we can to support families to ensure their children attend school, on time. Parents and carers also have a legal duty to do this. To help, you can:

• Promote positive attendance at home;
• Always contact us if your child cannot attend school with the reasons why. Primary Site: 01873 735010. Secondary Site: 01873 735373 – Option 1.
• Ensure your child only misses school for reasons that are unavoidable, or agreed and understood by the school. For example, significant  illness or an essential medical appointment.
• Promptly discuss any concerns that may affect future wellbeing or attendance, with the school.
