Attendance
Good attendance is above 96%. Attendance under 90% is classed as ‘persistent absence’. Consistent attendance leads to better progress, stronger friendships and better levels of wellbeing.
Parents/Carers must report a reason for their child’s absence. ‘Unwell’ does not give enough detail and will not be authorised. Please call 01873735010 (Primary Site) or 01873735373 – Option 1 (Secondary Site) to report an absence. You can also report absences on ClassCharts.
We believe that education is a partnership. We will do everything we can to support families to ensure their children attend school, on time. Parents and carers also have a legal duty to do this. To help, you can:
- Promote positive attendance at home;
- Always contact us if your child cannot attend school with the reasons why. Primary Site: 01873 735010. Secondary Site: 01873 735373 – Option 1.
- Ensure your child only misses school for reasons that are unavoidable, or agreed and understood by the school. For example, significant illness or an essential medical appointment.
- Promptly discuss any concerns that may affect future wellbeing or attendance, with the school.
